The Basics

Once you are in the app you will be greeted by the three primary parts of the UI:

The Workspace
The Workspace
The Toolbar
The Toolbar
The Main Panel
The Main Panel

It's likely the first thing you will want to do is create a deck. To do so right click on the workspace, and select either "New Deck" or "Import Deck". The following sources are supported for importing decks:

  • Archidekt
  • Moxfield

Once you have created a deck you will likely want to add cards to it. You can do so with the button on the right-hand side of the toolbar: "+ Card".

This will launch the add card dialog. There are a set of filters on the left that can be used to filter the list on the right down. Once you have found the desired card you click on it. This will switch to variant mode where you can:

  • Choose which printing of the card you want to add.
  • Choose the quantity of the card to add.
  • Choose where you want the card added (Mainboard/Sideboard/etc).
  • Add any relevant tags to the card.

Once you have added the card you can modify it by clicking on it in the main panel. From there you can:

  • Change the card variant by clicking on the picture.
  • Change the card quantity.
  • Change the tags on the card.
  • Change what grouping the card is in (Mainboard/Sideboard/etc).
  • Remove the card entirely.

After you have added some cards you might want more information about your deck. That is where the other modes for the main panel come in. They can be accessed with the buttons on the left of the toolbar. The modes are (in order of button appearance):

  • Graphical Deck Builder: the standard way to build a deck
  • Textual Deck Builder: an alternative way to build a deck
  • Stats: helpful statistics about your deck such as card counts, mana curves, total value, etc
  • Goldfish: playtest your deck to ensure it's running smoothly

Stats

The stats view can be used to view statistics about your deck such as:

  • The number of cards in the deck/sideboard.
  • The number of game changers in the deck (commander only).
  • The value of the deck.
  • Any issues with the deck for the target format.
  • The mana curve.
  • Breakdown of number of cards by type.
  • Breakdown of number of cards by tag.

Goldfishing

The goldfishing view can be used to playtest your deck. When you switch into it you will immediately draw seven cards. You can restart at any time by clicking the restart button on the right-hand side of the toolbar.

Cards can be freely dragged around with click and drag, so to play a card just drag it from your hand to the battlefield. The dragging also works to move cards into/out of the zones, and even the deck.

If you would like to tap a card simply left click it, and to untap it left click again.

If you want to draw a card simply click on the deck. Or alternatively right click on the deck and select the right context menu entry. Indeed these context menus are available on all cards/zones, and they are how you do many actions.

Sometimes you need to view all of the cards in a zone or deck, and the "View" context menu entries are for that. From there you can select cards, and then take further action on them using the buttons at the bottom of the dialog.

There is one additional useful shortcut in the toolbar: next turn. That will untap everything and draw a card.
